Laughing about Fear, then Crying

I've met a lot of wonderful people through the internet: writers, creatives, seekers, thinkers, believers ... skeptical believers, believing skeptics. My favorite combination is funny and profound, sarcastic and worshipful. Some one who can make me giggle and then bring it home and make me cry. That's what author Matthew Paul Turner did to me in this video. He shared his essay about fear at his church last week.

Check out MPT's blog, Jesus Needs New PR. Great blog title, huh? Well, it's a great blog to boot.

Susan on Asphalt Eden

I'm going back to New York at the end of February to participate in the International Arts Movement conference, called IAM Encounter. I just got interviewed about my experiences at IAM on the blog, Asphalt Eden, which you can read here.

And now, a beautiful photo. The boats are in Huntington Harbour. The mountains are the San Gabriels, 45 miles to the north, through some of the most populated, industrial, grotty area of Los Angeles. The mountains look so close, that's how clear it was today. Makes you understand why people (want to) move here.

Video Link to the Fox Show

If you missed my appearance on Mornings with Mike and Juliet, I was part of a panel, talking about various dating websites. I feel somewhat vindicated for being rejected by eHarmony. According to the eharmony spokesperson who was also on the show, I got rejected because I was a "complex thinker."

You can watch it here or there.

Susan on "Morning Show With Mike & Juliet"

Three years ago I wrote an essay about my misadventures in internet dating, which I titled "Rejected by eHarmony. " Because for one thing, I WAS rejected by eHarmony. I took their personality test three times and they rejected me. The fourth time I was on percoset and I passed. Anyway, I wrote the essay, and I guess a lot of people get rejected by eharmony, because if you google "rejected by eharmony" my blog piece comes in first.

So Thursday, someone from Fox TV's "Morning Show With Mike & Juliet" called, one thing led to another, and they're flying me out to New York to be on the show on Tuesday. If you are home, or you want to set your TiVo, tape the Tuesday edition of Mornings with Mike & Juliet

Great Super Bowl Commercials, and others ...

Don Miller posted some of his favorite super bowl commercials on his blog, which made me think of a few I liked. Here's one you've probably seen.

Herding Cats

However, this one is my favorite, especially since it stars Tall Todd Wilkerson, the funniest guy on TV.

Searching for Todd's commercial I found this one. Voted best commercial in Europe.

What are your favorite super bowl spots?
